Policy lifecycle and renewals

A policy moves through well-defined stages. Opencover models this lifecycle explicitly, so every policy has a clear state at any moment.

The stages

Status goes from draft (quote created) to filled (questionnaire complete) and active (in force), with an overdue state when needed. Payment, in turn, is handled separately — a policy can be paid without that becoming a status.

Renewals on the radar

Policies nearing expiration show up in their own renewal space, so the partner acts before coverage lapses. The lifecycle isn’t just a record: it’s what organizes the day-to-day work.
